A rush rush trip!

We were glad to have the extra room that the rental car gave us. We were hauling a lot of presents for the new moma. Also the tires on the Ford Escape (get the irony of we were escapeing on a trip and the car is called escape) it has really big tires which we think we might need incase of snow or bad weather. And scince we were leaving with a storm of rain bearing down on Florida we thought we might need them.

The day started off all grey and nasty. We thought we might end up riding a front all the way there and have heavy rain to go through.
The skies cleared up sometime after we passed the St. John's around Pensicola some where.
We ran into a few grey clouds with sprinkles but nothing bad at all.  So not only did we have our luggage and baby presents but we also decided we would rather travel with our dog than leave him in a kennel. He is a strange dog and can reacted weird in some situations and we just felt he would be safer and happier packed in the car with us. And he loved it. Just like a little kid at first he was up and looking out the windows but soon he settled down. The key to traveling with animals it to make them comfortable and give them their space to chill out. We brought his bed, for him to snuggle in all the way there, and a few choice toys, that he can't live with out and packed his suit case full of snacks and enough dog food to last him the whole trip. Just in case they don't have his brand when we get there.

The key to travleing with pets is to make them comfortable.

Reese slept in his bed or sat in my lap looking out the windows most of the way there. But then he would find even better spots to sit for a while. He snuggled up with the pillows and a roll of toilet paper (that we had brought for our own comfort) for a little while.
He thought this was a pretty comfortable spot. between the pillow and a roll of toilet paper.

Reeses also liked sitting on the youngest daughters lap.
